We started building a lily pond July 16th, 2006. We had been thinking about it for a while, but it took us a bit to decide where to put it (right in the center of our arbor, the lowest spot in the yard) and what shape to make it (a whimsical-ish irregular shape). We laid out a garden hose in the shape that we wanted, and then dug around the hose so we had an outline.

Then we got to digging. Luckily we haven't hit any rocks just yet...
